Rochester

No third fledge yet. Zephyr is a great flyer and Susie is getting there as well. Mariah, beautiful Mariah and Kaver are keeping a close eye on things. Cam 4 has changed position so that we can see what is happening in the playpen. Juvies hopflapping around a lot overthere. At around 10:30 Zephyr came back to the nestbox and Diamante was in the play pen.
In the afternoon Quest very easily jumpflapped on the roof of the nestbox and laid herself to sleep over there. This easy fly up confirms the idea that Quest is staying with Seneca, but very easily could fledge herself. Last year we saw this with Sacajawae and Linn. When Seneca flapps her wings there is lot of white down still under there, so she is not ready yet.
Quest is special, because she is the one with the trackingtransmitter on het back. Thatswhy there is an antenna sticking out.

I would like to draw some attention to the Peregrinations Blog by Jim Pisello. It is just great. Full of wonderful fledge photo's of the Rochester juvies! Please do visit!!
