Pittsburgh. Cathedral of Learning
Someone is having a lot of fun digging holes. It's just great to watch how soon nature responds on higher temps. Snow is gone and here we go.
Of course it will be a few weeks before eggs will be laid, but things are moving along just fine.
Wonderful webcam this one is.
Merrillville Indiana
A new webcam added to the worldwide web of peregrinefalconcams on this Blog is the one in Merrillville Indiana.
Peregrines have nested in a box high on the Unit 14 stack at R.M. Schahfer Generating Station since 1998, fledging 20 young during that time. The female, Latesha, was fledged in 1999 at a power plant in Genoa, Wisconsin, and has nested at Schahfer since 2001. Her mate, Rollin, was fledged at U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana in 1996 and has nested in Wheatfield since 1998. Latesha is Rollin's third mate in the eight years that she has nested at Schahfer Station.

Derby Cathedral
The Derby peregrines are handling the snow very well. They can take the cold as long as they are fed. And no doubt they have no problem with that. Enough tasty prey around. Nevertheless I do look forward to the breeding season of these Derby Peregrines. Last year was an awesome seaon with 4 youngsters who grew up to 4 strong juvs: 3 tiercels and 1 falcon.
