Rochester by night

The evening falls over Rochester. Mariah is sitting on the ledge her feathers blowing in the wind.
The wind that's called Mariah. She is named after the wind, this exeptional falcon lady. I deeply love this Falcon, Mariah of Rochester. She is special. All peregrines are special, but there's something about Mariah.
In a few weeks time there will be a lot of chittering eyases behind her in the nestbox very much alive and kicking. I can almost hear their little voices already. It will be another great season for sure!
Goodnight Mariah and all other creatures big and small, sleep well.

Cobb Island

Great pics of the falcon of Cobb Island. Looking forward to Eyases here, wil be fabulous pictures!

De Mortel: first egg

S2 of the Mortel, the intruder of last year is now the resident female. Together with the resident male for years called Pa she forms the new territorial couple of the Tower. Last year she won a territorial battle with Ma who got her self killed. At that moment there where 3 eyases, only one week old. Pa kept on bringing prey to his eyases, but S2 mistook it for courtship prey and took it away. The youngest eyas died from foodshortage. The other two kept on hanging in there. On Mothersday S2 had a big change of heart and started feeding the 2 eyases. They where 4 weeks old at that time. Because of her loving care they both grew up as 2 healthy lively juvi's who fledged savely. They left the Tower in September.
S2 and pa stayed at the Tower all winter. And now she laid her own very first egg ever.
