Sussex Heights Brighton
A day of action at the Sussex Heights nestsite. I really love this new male! He is such an active and assertive young guy. Clicking away 1500 images one really gets a good idea of what is happening and he is around quite a lot. The female as well. She looks heavy at the tail: eggs expected??
AEB Amsterdam
We were able to read the ring of the AEB female: DN. That means she hatched at Drogenbos/Belgium in 2001. She was evictid and driven out of the Amsterdam Hemweg nestsite by a fierce German Falcon in 2005. Since 2008 she is the resident female at this nestsite. Her mate is banded as R1. And this means he hatched in 2005 at the Hemwegnestite from the German female and her former mate! So she is no mating with the son of her former mate, or the AEB male is mating with the ex of his father. It looks just like a soapopera....
Indianapolis
In 2008, the first was laid on March 16th (around 6:30 pm), the second on March 19th (around 6 am), the third on March 21st (around 3pm) and the fourth on March 23rd (around 8:30pm). Wonder what this year will bring?
