Bologna: 9th Day

This looks like it is Aisha, the mother to be. Her eyases are 9 days into the transformationproces to becoming adorable little white chicks.

Derby

This magnificent videoclip shows the female Derby Peregrine with prey landing on the Tower of the Cathedral. Excellent video!
And very many thanks for promoting my Peregrine Blog. I'm honored!
"Finally, although this really deserves a diary entry in its own right, we would like to draw your attention to a fantastic new peregrine blog run by a Dutch enthusiast called Froona. Her site seems to be unique in that it compares the progress of a number of peregrine webcams around the world, and her use of captured images from their webcams is brilliant for seeing what other pairs of birds are up to. In Rome for example, they already have eggs, whereas we don't expect ours until the end of March/early April. (I just wish I had the time to watch them all!) "

James River Bridge

Both parents breeding, Sir James ( what a special name for a tiercel) and Elizabeth. We are waiting and hoping for the 4th egg.

Oberhausen: 10th day already

It's already the 10th breeding day. How fast is goes. One third of the proces is finished. Although the embryo is very tiny, featherbuds are starting to form on this day. The legs can bend and the eggtooth starts to form. Fingers are forming at the wings, and the heart is finally resting in the chestcavity. The heart was to big in the past days to fit in.
The embryo is moving around a lot in the amnionfluid. In this stage it is impossible to make MRI images because of all the activity of the little one swimming inside the egg.
The transformation within the egg to a complete chick is one of the most amazing miracles I have ever seen! Read al about it and watch the video's on my website: http://www.falcoperegrinus.nl
How beautiful and prescious nature is on our Blue Earth......

Rome: beautiful Aria

Rochester: Cams are back online!

Mariah in the nestbox looking out over a snowy winter wonderland. Much to cold for semi-altricial eyases, brrrrr. Last year Mariah laid her first egg on the 26th of March. So we have a bit of time ahead before we can cheer

Derby

Derby: both peregrines in one photo. The Pudding images keep being great and absolutely unique. It will be great when the chicks are born, to watch dad preparing dinner here for his hungry eyases.

Heidelberg: first egg!

Harrisburg

Female present at the nestsite. Last year the first egg arrived on the 24th of March. Considering the weather throughout the area, it will probably be not in the next few days that she will start laying. But falcons never cease to amaze me.....

Indianapolis

Falcon footprints in the snow.....

Terminal Tower: snowstorm

Looks like X-mas, with weather outside that's frightful. No sign of the lovebirds.

Heidelberg: first egg

First egg for Aurora and Phönix!
