Derby Cathedral Peregrine Project: 31 days old

One of the eyases is almost completely brown now. This is a male. Male eyases do not need to grow as much as a female. The weight diffrence is onethird. The name for the male peregrine falcon is tiercel, this is from the German word terzel, which means onethird.
A female eyas has to grow from the 45 gr birthweight to 1100 grams 5 weeks later ! A male to about 800 grams. So the male is much sooner `ready`.
They will still have some downfeathers on their body, like under the wings, on the head and the back.
A male eyas can fledge as soon as 37 days!
