Heidelberg: feeding the eyases

Last year it was noticed as well, and now the male behaves in the same peculiar way. When he brings in food he starts to feed the female and not the eyases. This male is a new partner of Aurora. Last year her partner Fritz sis not return in the spring. This new male started courting Aurora and she accepted him. He was still partly in his juvenile plumage, so he is very young.
Feeding the female is bonding behaviour, part of courtship. This behaviour of Phönix is pleasing his partner, bonding with her, showing her this bond is important. Now Aurora takes the food from him and feeds the eyases with what he offers her.
We are very far from understanding the behaviour of this so very special creature: the peregrine falcon we all love so dearly.
