From all the emails I got today I understand that for a moment people were worried about the egg being cracked. Although it was not visible at first, always watch the behaviour of the falcons in such a case. One of the most upsetting things for a breeding couple is a broken egg. They get very aggitated with that and stay with the egg, watching it, touching it, looking around, chupping and wailing. They stand together over the brooken egg and especially the male is very aggitated. He is the one who made the bowl that she has picked out to lay her egg in it. An no it cannot be used again for the eggwhite and yoke make it rocksolide mass. The bowl in the scrape is secret. What to do? One can watch the nervous reaction to the problem the male is facing.
Non of this was visible on the many images. Quite in the contrary, KathyQ was standing over the egg, doozing off, feeling very comfortable. So one look on the falcons told me, there was nothing wrong.
Fortunately!
