De Mortel March 12
In the afternoon of March 12 S2 landed on the grid in front of the nestbox. She did not leave anymore. She went in, laid down in the bowl in the scrape, She stood up, went outside again.
In the early evening when the night sat in, she went in again and sat down in the bowl. It looked like she was going to lay an egg. She sat there for a long time, but no egg. Finally she stepped out on the grid and went to sleep. Very odd.
The next morning the male brought her prey on the grid which she took and flew off.
The production of an egg is a very delicate process, in which many things can go wrong.
