The snow is gone, and the ice as well. It has been really cold in the Netherlands the past weeks. It is still just 4C, but nature knows very well spring is just a few weeks away. Birds are appearing from their hidingplaces everywhere. And singing their songs in the morning. I saw a buzzard this afternoon eating a tasty prey. Last week he was sitting very sadly in the freezing landscape feeling sorry for himself. ( I did so too for him)
Our peregrine falcons in De Mortel are visiting the nestbox more frequently these days, and are inspecting their new nursery. S2 took a look and Pa as well.
