Rochester: cams will close on monday
The last images from the webcams 2008. They will close down tomorrow. After a wonderful 2008 nesting season all five of this year’s eyases– Seneca, Diamante, Quest, Zephyr and Susan B– have take to the skies of Rochester and fledge successfully. Since the falcons have largely left the nest box, and the project is preparing to transition the camera equipment and nest box, the Rochester Falconcam’s cameras will shut down on Monday, July 7th. But Impints will continue to bring information from the on-scene volunteer watchers at the FalconWatch Blog throughout the summer.
The Falconcam site will remain active throughout the year so that news of Quest’s travels via her solar-powered backpack transmitter can be brought. The Kodak Rochester team has been informed by the satellite monitoring agency that her signals are being received, and the website is being prepared so that can been showed where she goes. Posting updates for Quest will start in a few weeks, as soon as she leaves the area.
