Alcoa Anglesea: 40 days old

Both youngsters Midnight( Z/V) and Rocket (W/A) are very active now. Especially Midnight who left the nestbox for the very first time today. He jumped up the roof of the box. In the afternoon he spent several hours perching on the railing of the tower.
Around 7 in the evening Sheila brought in a pigeon, which she left for the 2 boys to pluck and eat. One of them got real defensive when mantling the prey and putting up al the feathers. Wonderful boys! They are birds of prey in training!
Do hope they will stay around for a bit longer, before saying goodbye to their worldwide audience.

Alcoa Anglesea: 39 days old

2 beautiful youngsters in Alcoa

Both youngsters work by the book! They have started to explore the beam in front of the nestboxand flapper a lot today from the beam in teh box and back. Having lots of fun and move around a lot as well! It will not be long now, before one of them leave.

By comparing the behaviour now of these 2 youngsters and that what happened with Stan last Friday show how that was an accident. But fortunately Stan's alright.

Alcoa Anglesea: 38 days old

The young tiercels are getting more beautiful every day. Real peregrine falcon juveniles they are now. Big, brown, with just a few white downspots. They do seem to enjoy the nestbox very much. Laying in the sun together, being lazy.
Wonder where Stan is? If he is flying already he's bound to visit his 2 brothers. I do hope we will see him one of these days.
Both tiercels are spending a lot of time on the edges of the nestbox, flapping there mighty wings.
Hope they stay a little bit longer for all of us, all over the world to enjoy these little guys.
